When Javier Sánchez first visited the site, which is now known as The Cape, he envisioned guests to feel the harmonized flow between the indoor and outdoor lifestyle; to draw guests closer to the heritage and culture of the Baja. He accomplished this by introducing aesthetics not yet seen in Los Cabos. Javier not only brought traditional native Baja creativity but also created a masterpiece that balances the Sea of Cortez with the Baja Desert.
Javier Sánchez set the sound stage so interior designer Marisabel Gómez Vázquez could introduce a sleek, modern, Baja-beach vibe to the al fresco layout. The final product, which we are now lucky to experience, is a perfect harmony of energy, traditions, culture, and contemporary design which mirrors the most beautiful view in Cabo.
Chef Olvera celebrates Pacific coasts traditions -taking inspiration from his native Mexico, as well as Peru, Japan, and beyond- while maintaining a distinct and tastefully casual Baja sensibility with a commitment to sourcing local ingredients from Baja California Sur. This approach, of designing such a menu, maintains a distinct and tasteful culinary style you must experience.
Culinary innovator and celebrity executive Chef Enrique Olvera (2015 James Beard Foundation Award Finalist & Netflix star) oversees the popular ocean-view cli side restaurant, Manta.
"So we’re trying to bring in that soul from the street food and combine it with the attention to detail and execution of fine dining.”
Inspired by the views from one of the most desirable and secluded playas in Cabo San Lucas, chef Enrique Olvera conceived Manta with an intriguing double meaning: The manta ray is symbolic of the kitchen's focus on seafood, while manta the Spanish word for blanket, conveys the chef's emphasis on comfort.
Manta’s menu is balanced perfectly with the restaurant’s decor and inside/outside environment with hand-carved wooden doors, a copper-finished wall and breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez to be seen from any table in the house.
The Ledge is a casual but classic beach house inspired restaurant and patio. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every Sunday enjoy the best brunch in town and live music.
The Rooftop lounge provides a spectacular view of lights between the city in the distance and the stars above. The music, rooftop garden, retro decor, and the brilliant mixologist behind the bar make for a night to remember. Condé Nast Traveler selected The Rooftop at The Cape as one of the Ten Best Rooftops bars in the world.
The Lobby Bar is a testament to Mexican artisans as everything is beautifully hand-made. Like The Rooftop, the drinks are well thought out and made with true mixology standards.
Monuments surf break is a perfect left for surfers that know a thing or two about fast breaks. Even if you are not an avid surfer you can enjoy the daily spectacle of art & wipeouts from the comfort of your panoramic terrace.
The Cape cultivates a natural surf culture full of traditional classic surf vibes. This nostalgic heritage can be felt throughout the residences.
The fitness room is also a site to see as it features a panoramic view of the Sea of Cortez with separate rooms for yoga, personal training and aerobics.
